Introduction
The Central Library of Mahatma Basweshwar Mahavidyalaya, Latur is a prominent academic centre of the campus and a rich treasure of knowledge. Established in 1970, the library is fully computerized with barcode technology and provides excellent facilities to students and staff members.
The library is housed in a spacious two-storeyed building containing a vast collection of textbooks, reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, journals, and periodicals. It also includes books on religion, biographies, gazetteers, novels, science fiction, geology, and astronomy. A well-furnished reading room facility is available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight during examinations.
Guided by the principle “Books are the Best Teachers”, the library staff is dedicated to supporting teaching, learning, and research activities.

Computerisation
The library is fully computerized using CDS/ISIS (UNESCO) and SOUL software developed by INFLIBNET, Ahmedabad. Multilingual ISM software is used for Devanagari books. Retrospective conversion of approximately 75,000 Senior College books has been completed.
Library Committee
A Library Committee is constituted at the beginning of every academic year comprising the Principal, Librarian, and teachers from each faculty (12 members) to supervise library functioning.
