Extension Services

Mahatma Basweshwar Mahavidyalaya, Latur provides a wide range of extension services aimed at the overall personality development, social responsibility, leadership qualities, and career readiness of students. The college actively runs NCC, NSS and the Personality Development, Career Counselling & Placement Cell.

NCC (National Cadet Corps)

With the objective of nation building and developing leadership, discipline, fraternity, sportsmanship, secular outlook, and the spirit of selfless service, the NCC unit was established in the college in 1970.

The NCC unit conducts ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate Examinations every year. Cadets participate in various training and national-level camps such as Annual Training Camp, Thal Sainik Camp, National Integration Camp, Advanced Leadership Camp, Scuba Diving Camp, and Combined Annual Training Camp.

Our cadets have received Chief Minister Scholarship, Welfare Society Scholarship, Gold Medals, and some cadets have been selected for the Republic Day Parade. A parade cadet officer participating in the Disaster Management Training Course won the Chancellor’s Brigade First Prize.

The NCC unit actively organizes awareness and social activities such as:

• Eye Health Camp
• Tree Plantation
• Blood Donation Camp
• Sanitation and Cleanliness Drives
• Anti-dowry and Social Awareness Pledges

All NCC activities are conducted under the guidance of the Captain, Prof. B. M. Godbole.

NSS (National Service Scheme)

The NSS unit of the college is one of the most active units. The university has sanctioned 250 volunteers for the unit, guided by three Programme Officers.

The NSS unit undertakes various activities for social upliftment and community service, including:

• Anti-Addiction Campaigns
• Anti-AIDS Awareness Programmes

Blood Donation

The college organizes Blood Donation Camps every year in collaboration with Dr. Bhalchandra Blood Bank and the Civil Hospital.

Special Youth Camps

A ten-day Special Youth Camp is organized every year on specific social themes. A large number of NSS volunteers actively participate in these camps.

Personality Development, Career Counselling & Placement Cell

The college has a Personality Development, Career Counselling & Placement Cell dedicated to the holistic development of students. This centre is a unique feature of the college and works towards enhancing employability and life skills.

The cell organizes various programmes such as competitive examination guidance, group discussions, interview techniques, soft-skill development programmes, and general knowledge tests. Many students have benefited from this centre and secured placements in various organizations.
