Introduction

The Department of Pali at Mahatma Basweshwar College, Latur was established with the objective of preserving, promoting, and imparting higher education in Pali language and literature. The department plays an important role in introducing students to the Buddhist intellectual, ethical, and philosophical traditions through classical Pali texts.

The department focuses on the study of Pali grammar, canonical literature, Buddhist philosophy, and cultural history. It aims to develop linguistic proficiency, analytical ability, and critical understanding of Pali texts while emphasizing their relevance in moral, social, and contemporary studies.
