Introduction

The Department of Dairy Science at Mahatma Basweshwar College, Latur was established in June 1980 with the objective of imparting scientific and technical knowledge in the field of animal husbandry and dairying. The department plays an important role in preparing students to meet the growing demands of the dairy and livestock sector.

The department emphasizes the study of life processes of animals, dairy production, biotechnology applications, animal health, and management practices. It also focuses on socio-economic aspects and extension activities aimed at benefiting farmers and the rural community.
