Introduction

The Department of Hindi at Mahatma Basweshwar College, Latur was established in 1970 with the objective of promoting higher education in Hindi language and literature. The Research Centre of the department was established in 1999, strengthening research activities in Hindi studies.

The department aims to develop linguistic proficiency, literary understanding, creativity, and research aptitude among students. Through the study of various literary forms such as poetry, prose, and drama, students gain insight into the social, economic, and cultural aspects reflected in Hindi literature of different periods.

• To enable students to understand social, economic, and cultural aspects of different periods through literature.
• To develop creativity and critical thinking among students.
• To acquaint students with the development, characteristics, and kinds of poetry.
