Introduction

The departmernt sociology is estaslished in the ucadenic year 1970 . and The P.G departmetment is stdeted in 1979. Dr A.T.anbhule who was the head of the department for a long time ratired on June 30.2023.Dr.S.T. Gaikwad has been working in the department as a lreturer in 1988.who succed Dr.Anbhule as the head of the department the department of sociology bears i'ts own identify by i'ts reasearoh work and various acadenic drtivitiy for the students.the department of sociology started Reseatch center in 1998.

The department of sociology has organised Teachers work shop from.8 to 11 March.1991. marathwada sociological ronfrence was arranged by the department on 4 and 5 march 1995.A conference of marathi sameyshastra parishad was arrunged by the department on 21 and 22 Nov1999 Thirty one students of the department ha got through the ecamination fo NET and SET. forty students of P.G.stood un the list of merit of unversity.

Aims and Objectives

• To creat interest among the student in the subject
• To intrduce students to basic concepts of sociology
• To enable them to understand social reaity objectvely
• To make the students realize the omportance to contitvit nad rchanges to enable them to contrbute to social develpment in India.
