Introduction

The Department of Sanskrit at Mahatma Basweshwar College, Latur was established with the objective of preserving, promoting, and imparting higher education in Sanskrit language and literature. The department plays a vital role in introducing students to India’s ancient intellectual, philosophical, and cultural heritage through classical Sanskrit texts.

The department emphasizes the study of Vedic, classical, and post-classical Sanskrit literature, grammar, philosophy, and poetics. It aims to develop linguistic proficiency, interpretative skills, and critical understanding of Sanskrit texts while highlighting their relevance in contemporary academic and cultural contexts.
