Healthy Practices

Healthy Practices

Kaykawe Kailas” i.e. “Work is Heaven” – a holy vachan of Mahatma Basweshwar – is the guiding theme of our institution. It inspires a system of governance, democratic functioning, social awareness and pursuit of excellence in every activity of the college. Healthy practices and responsibilities are inculcated among the students through the following activities:

  • Acquainting students with the Indian Constitution
  • Acquainting them with rights and duties of citizens
  • Displaying basic values of a good student on boards
  • Educating them about their responsibilities towards society
  • Participating in activities like “Gutka Bandi Abhiyan”
  • Appealing students to keep the college campus clean
  • Inspiring them for substantial development for a healthy nation

The college organizes lecture series, Earn and Learn scheme, debate competitions, and associations in various departments for the overall development of students. The college also publishes the Annual College Magazine ‘Aavishkar’.

National Anthem

Mahatma Basweshwar Mahavidyalaya strives to inculcate patriotism amongst students. Hence, on working days, the National Anthem is played on the loudspeaker at 11:18 a.m.. Students, teachers, non-teaching staff, and visitors are expected to stand in attention wherever they are.

Lecture Series

The college organizes two lecture series every year: Mahatma Basweshwar Vyakhyanamala and Barlinge Vyakhyanamala. Eminent personalities are invited to guide staff and society on spiritual, social, economic, and cultural topics.

Earn & Learn Scheme

Students from economically weaker sections and remote areas work part-time in college and in Latur under the Earn & Learn scheme. Around 25–30 students benefit from this scheme every year.

Debate Competition

The college organizes Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Intercollegiate Debate Competition every year at the University level. This encourages students to develop oratory skills.
